Geriatrics and Senior Care
America is growing older at an unprecedented rate. The number of people 65 and older is larger than ever before, and those 85 and older constitute the fastest growing segment of the population. When the baby boom generation enters its senior years, between 2010 and 2030, it is projected that one in five Americans will be over 65.
As we grow older, our bodies and health needs change. In fact, half of all adults over the age of 65 in the U.S. suffer from an age-related illness or condition, according to a recent study. Most of these aging adults have experienced a loss of mental acuity, suffered falls, incontinence, dizziness or loss of balance, and vision or hearing problems.
